The Slug test is a hydrogeological test in which it is analyzed the ground response in front a disturbance deliberately caused and controlled in the piezometric level in order to obtain information from the equivalent transmissivity of the studied formation in the section of the trial.

The Slugs test allows to estimate the effective permeability of the studied material in a local scale: the most adjacent zone to the borehole where the test has been performed. In this way, it should be noted that the test may be affected by sand and gravel that could exist between the piezometric tube and the borehole walls.

This kind of test are ideal in a low permeability mediums.

This test require little execution time.
